From the Rabbis and the President:Come Celebrate Us with Us!
We want to thank the many people who give of themselves to sustain our vibrant community. On April 29, Ohav will host a Volunteer Appreciation Shabbat to celebrate our many wonderful volunteers
When we began to plan this event, we quickly discovered that we have a problem. As we started to enumerate the individual volunteers involved in the different aspects of life at Ohav Shalom, we realized that we have far too many volunteers to mention and to honor individually. What a wonderful problem we have! And so, for Volunteer Appreciation Shabbat, we will appreciate our Ohav community and celebrate one another for sustaining it, even as we honor some individual volunteers.
Our community thrives because so many of you generously give your time, energy, skills and presence. Please take a moment to look at the snapshot of Ohav activities below. If you are reading this note, chances are you will find yourself in one or more of those activities.
Please plan to join the celebration on April 29. Whether or not you currently participate as a volunteer, this is your chance to learn more about Ohav, about volunteer opportunities and to recognize those who make our community what it is.
In honor of this occasion, we hope to publish a program which will include written comments from some of our volunteers. If you are able to write a few lines about your participation and what it means to you, please do so and send them to Margery Zucker at email@example.com
With appreciation and best wishes for a joyous Passover, Judy Avner, Rabbi Kieval and Rabbi Ornstein
