Congregation Ohav Shalom is embarking on an historic mission in honor of our 100th Anniversary: the writing of a new Sefer Torah.
|
The 613th and final commandment in the Torah is that each and every Jew should write a new Torah. Our congregation is collectively fulfilling this mitzvah as defined by the famous medieval scholar Maimonides, who said that 'if one writes or fills in just one letter in a Torah scroll, it is as if they have written it in its entirety.' |
| Donations to the Torah Writing Campaign will be used to write a new Torah scroll, to preserve and repair our existing scrolls, and to support the spiritual, religious and educational needs of our congregation. We are hoping for 100% participation from our congregational family. Please join us for this extraordinary journey. Co-Chairs David Levine and Dan Sanders |
