Congregation Ohav Shalom invites you to a weekend of events with Rabbi Regina Sandler-Phillips, MSW, MPH.
Rabbi Regina will weave together classical texts, music and discussion to address themes of what it means to create caring community at different moments of the life cycle.

Rabbi Regina Sandler-Phillips is the Founding Executive Director of WAYS OF PEACE Community Resources which promotes justice and kindness across lines of diversity and throughout the life cycle.

Friday Night Shabbat Services, Dinner and Discussion – 6 pm

Jewish ” Interlife” : The Invisible Points of Connection Jewish beliefs about the afterlife and practical implications for the transition period between death and burial.

Saturday Morning Shabbat Services and Kiddush Luncheon

Balancing the Sanctuary – Three Legs or One Foot? On this Shabbat we will explore ways to seek a new
equilibrium that integrates kindness and justice with the regular rhythms of learning and prayer.

Sunday Evening Dinner – 5 pm and Program – 6 pm

All Through the Night: The Spiritual Significance of Sh’mirah
( Vigil Keeping)

On this evening, the 7th of Adar, we will follow the tradition of honoring and celebrating the women and men of Ohav’s hevra kadisha groups. After dinner, through study and personal testimonials, we will explore the experience of sh’mirah and its meanings in the 21st century.

No charge for dinner however a suggested donation of $10 would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
