Tu B'Shevat
|
Tu B'Shvat, the New Year for Trees, falls on the 15th of the Hebrew month of Shvat. Jewish tradition marks the 15th of Shvat as the day when the sap in the trees begins to rise, signalling the earth's awakening from its winter slumber, and heralding the beginning of Spring. This mini-holiday is of major importance to our appreciation of Nature and our relationship to it.
Tu B'Shevat begins on the evening of February 7, 2012.

Morning Minyan
Please help us ensure a minyan every day by attending - once a week, or even less often, if you are able. The minyan community is a warm, friendly group of people, some with great familiarity with the prayers, and others who are new to the experience. Minyan is a wonderful way to start the day. The service is followed by coffee and breakfast, either at Ohav or elsewhere. Fulfilling the mitzvah of enabling someone to say kaddish, of engaging in daily prayer and of strengthening our sacred community.
