Ongoing Food Drive

The prophet Isaiah wrote:

This is my chosen fast…
Share your bread with the hungry,
Take the homeless into your home
Clothe the naked when you see him,
Do not turn away from people in need.

This year the Social Action Committee will continue the tradition of collecting food for the hungry.

In Search of….Shabbat Prayer Leaders

Our congregation is blessed with many talented people who volunteer to lead the worship services on Shabbat mornings. While there are many “regulars” we always welcome new people who would like to lead Shacharit or Musaf on Shabbat mornings.

If you are familiar with leading these services but have not been called upon, please contact Rena Kieval (through the Synagogue office) to be put on the list. Each person is usually assigned one Shabbat every two to three months. (There is always a need for service leaders for Yom Tov - Sukkot, Pesach, and Shavuot).

If you would like to learn to lead Shacharit or Musaf, coaching and tapes are available from Rena Kieval. A reading knowledge of Hebrew is necessary.
